Locksmithing without the drama.

We treat a safe the way a good mechanic treats an engine: understand it before opening it. Dial safes, electronic locks and old fire chests each have a manipulation or bypass method that leaves the box usable afterwards. Drilling is a last resort, done at a precise point and repaired properly. Once it is open we change the combination and show you how to set it yourself.

The key you reach for. The door you come home to. Good locksmith work begins with understanding how you use them.

  • Clear about who can get in. After any rekey or replacement we tell you exactly which keys work and how many copies exist. Key control is the point, and you should have the full picture.
  • Careful with the building. We protect floors and finishes, work around your day where we can, and treat a shop or office with the same care as a home.
  • The choice explained in your terms. Rather than product names, we talk about what each option means for you: who has access, how it copes with weather, how easy it is to change later.

Small things.
Big difference.

Sometimes the job is obvious: a key snapped in the cylinder, a deadbolt that spins without catching. Other times you know something is wrong but not what to ask for. Either way, start here. Each service page describes the symptoms, the fix and what to have ready.

1/3Commercial Rekeying

A break-in overnight took the cash float and a staff member's bag with her work keys inside it. The glass is being replaced this morning, but the key that opened the door yesterday will still open it tonight unless the cylinders are changed.

2/3Home Lockout Service

Someone pushed the privacy button on the bathroom door and pulled it shut behind them, leaving the room locked and empty. The little emergency slot on the outside is stripped, and the tiny release key that came with the handle disappeared years ago.

After the attempted break-in the police officer pointed at your door and said the strike plate was held by two short screws. Nobody got in, but you have looked at that door differently every evening since.

High Security Locks

Homeowners often come to high security after a scare, whether their own or a neighbour's. The advice is the same either way: start with the strike and the bolt, add a cylinder that resists the common tricks, and take control of who can copy the key.

  1. High Security Locks

You have lost count of how many people have had a key to your house over the years: cleaners, a contractor, a former partner, the previous owner's family.

  2. Lock Replacement & Upgrade

The house is fifteen years old and every exterior door still wears the light hardware the builder fitted: a short bolt, a thin strike held by two small screws, and a knob lock that never suited a street entrance.

  3. Deadbolt Installation

The old deadbolt has grown lazy.

  4. Break-In Damage Lock Repair

There is a hole where the cylinder used to be.

Safe Opening & Combination Change

A customer's rifle safe at the range has a dial that simply will not respond to the combination written on the sales receipt from years ago.

Safe Installation & Servicing

A homeowner inherited a heavy old dial safe from a parent's house, moved it into the new place, and has no idea whether the bolt-work still works, whether the lock is sound, or how it should be anchored.

Which fix fits?

The key goes in but will not turn on cold mornings.

Sensible optionClean and lubricate the cylinder.

WhyMoisture and old grease thicken below freezing; a cold-rated lubricant keeps the pins moving.

The door latches fine in summer and refuses to in winter.

Sensible optionAdjust the strike and hinges for seasonal movement.

WhyFrames shift with freeze-thaw; a strike set for the cold months keeps the door locking year round.

The lock on the side door is frozen solid.

Sensible optionThaw it properly, then seal against water getting in.

WhyForcing a frozen cylinder snaps keys; gentle heat frees it, and a weather cover keeps the water out afterwards.

A break-in overnight took the cash float and a staff member's bag with her work keys inside it.

Sensible optionCommercial Rekeying

WhyTaking over a commercial unit is the moment to make the locks yours.

After a busy shift the manager counts the keys coming back in and loses track of who still has one.

Sensible optionMaster Key System Design

WhyThe process behind a master key system runs from conversation to chart.

The keypad on the side door has started sticking on cold mornings, codes get shared instead of reset, and half the staff still remember a code you meant to retire two hires ago.

Sensible optionAccess Control Installation

WhyWhere a building has more than one controlled door, a networked system lets each opening run its own schedule: the front office unlocked for regular hours, a stockroom open to two people only, a loading dock released for a delivery window, with the management software tying those schedules together.

How a visit goes

Describe the property, the hardware and what has changed, and the visit starts from what you have seen.

    Verifying the caller

We ask for something that ties you to the premises: a lease, business card, or a call to the owner. Opening a shop for the wrong person is not a risk we take.

  2. Illustration: the van outside the house, a photo ID card by the front door, then the options laid out and one chosen

    Getting the door open

Storefront and office locks vary, so we choose the approach that leaves the hardware intact wherever possible. If the lock itself has failed, we tell you before opening it.

    Getting you back to trading

Once inside we check the lock, cut keys if needed and note anything that should be addressed later so your day can carry on.

2021 Census

What it means at the door

About 52% of homes in London were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.

Older homes

In neighbourhoods of established homes, keys have often been copied many times over many owners. Rekeying every exterior door to one fresh key is the common first job, and it works on old cylinders just as well as on new ones.

Single-detached houses make up about 49% of homes in London (2021 Census).

Mixed housing brings mixed hardware ages as well as types. A locksmith may rebuild a mortise lock on a semi-detached house and then set up a keypad on a townhouse door across the road, and treats each with the care its owner expects.

Questions people ask us

Questions · (226) 781-1247

Can you also deal with the back door, the roll-up shutter and the gate?

Yes. A business lockout covers every opening the premises relies on: the rear service door with its exit device, a roll-up shutter and its padlock, the compound gate, a mailbox in the lobby and interior doors such as the cash office or server closet. Mention each one when you call so the right padlock shackles, cores and cylinders are in the van, and so cylinders that should share a key are handled together.

How long does a business lockout take?

It depends on the hardware and what else is wired to it. A standard storefront cylinder or office lever on a well-hung door is often a short job once authority is confirmed. A high-security cylinder, a frozen lock, a dropped door or a dead access controller adds time, and so does rekeying several doors afterwards. The locksmith gives you a realistic idea on the phone once you describe the door and the situation.

This is the third time this door has locked someone out. Is something wrong with the hardware?

It can be. A cylinder that is worn, a strike plate that has shifted, or a latch that no longer seats squarely will all produce repeat lockouts even though the key looks fine. The locksmith checks the alignment of the door and frame, tests how smoothly the latch throws, and looks at wear inside the cylinder before simply letting you back in. If the hardware is the cause, fixing that during the same visit is usually quicker than calling again next month.

What proof do I need to show before locks are changed?

The locksmith confirms that the person ordering the work is entitled to change the locks: the owner, a tenant with the landlord's agreement, or a property or facilities manager for a business. Photo identification and something linking you to the address usually settle it, and for a company a letter or a call to the named contact does the same. It protects you as much as anyone, since the same check stops someone else from changing your locks.

Request a visit

After a break-in, households in London need the door secured tonight and the decisions made later. We come out, board or repair what is damaged, replace or rekey anything that might have been compromised, and leave you with a locked house. Conversations about strike plates and better cylinders wait until the shock has passed and you are ready to have them.
